American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”) held its 18th Annual Grand Illumination on Saturday, November 29th. More than 20,000 community members attended the event and enjoyed numerous holiday lights and displays, festive performances, and a fireworks show to conclude the evening.

The event was emceed by American Heritage’s President & CEO, Bruce K. Foulke, alongside a Betsy Ross impersonator to add classic Philadelphian colonial charm. Four high school students from MaST Charter School opened the evening with a performance of “God Bless America,” which also included a salute to all active servicemen and women, as well as veterans and first responders. This was followed by performances from the New Jersey Fifes and Drums and the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale. A colorful fireworks display closed out the night’s festivities.

The holiday spirit extended beyond the performances. Many who attended brought along a canned good to donate as part of American Heritage’s 12th annual Spirit of Giving Food Drive. Additionally, the Kids-N-Hope Foundation provided a donation of $600,000 to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This gift will go towards supporting their music therapy program, an effort that has proven improved health outcomes for pediatric patients.

“Here at American Heritage, Grand Illumination is always one of our favorite days of the year,” said Foulke. “I want to thank all the families and community members who attended, and I hope you felt the same holiday spirit and joy that our team feels each year putting this event together. Thank you also to all our associates who volunteered time to make Grand Illumination possible. I sincerely believe this year’s Grand Illumination was our best yet!”

Free Month-Long Grand Illumination

If you missed the Grand Illumination Kick-Off event, you can still enjoy the decorated campus and lights all month long in December. Our Grand Illumination features more than 400,000 lights, two 40-foot illuminated trees, and hundreds of wreaths and decorations. All community members are welcome to visit the American Heritage Red Lion Road campus in the evenings from now through New Year’s Day to enjoy the decorations and take family photos. You can enter through our Red Lion Road or Jamison Road entrances. Free parking is available on site and our lights will shine daily beginning at dusk.
