American Heritage Credit Union associates volunteered their time yesterday to make over 400 meals through Caring for Friends’ meal packing program to help feed community members throughout the region. American Heritage partnered with Caring for Friends early this year and scheduled multiple packing day events throughout 2022 as part of the credit union’s commitment to help to help make a long-term impact in the lives of those in need.

As Kitchen Volunteers this week, over 20 American Heritage employees prepared food and organized meals for Caring for Friends' homebound seniors. Caring for Friends volunteers make weekly home visits to deliver these meals and visit with seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and other isolated homebound friends throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region.

The snack packaging event was the second of three events that American Heritage and its associates will host this year to provide food for individuals and families in need throughout the greater Philadelphia area. Caring for Friends serves approximately 10,000 homebound individuals as well as people experiencing homelessness.

“The need for food donations continues to increase drastically in our region as inflation and overall food costs rise,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, American Heritage President & CEO. “We can always count on American Heritage’s associates to step up and help those in need. Thanks to their hard work, more than one thousand individuals in our community will enjoy nutritious meals and receive additional food items. We are thrilled to continue partnering with our Workplace Partner Caring for Friends and look forward to upcoming volunteer opportunities for our associates to make in impact in our community.”
