American Heritage Credit Union was one of the 28 Transportation Demand Management Advocates recognized by the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association during the annual TDM Advocates Breakfast this month. The awards are given to organizations that encourage alternative transportation for employees to promote environmental sustainability within their community.

GVF is a not-for-profit organization that, for over 30 years, has encouraged organizations to turn towards alternative forms of transportation to inspire positive change in our climate, employee equity, and overall quality of life. These alternatives include biking, public transit, walking, working from home, and carpooling. TDM refers to the strategies, programs, and policies that are designed to reduce single occupancy trips and enable more efficient transportation systems for individuals.

GVF’s TDM Advocate program encourages organizations to make a commitment to promote more sustainable transportation alternatives for employees to improve their environment and quality of life. American Heritage was among those recognized this year as a TDM Advocate alongside Fortune 500 companies, colleges and universities, engineering and development firms, retailers and more.

American Heritage is committed to implementing sustainable transportation practices for its associates and encourages the environmental initiatives led by staff. Through the use of bike racks, subsidy for commuter checks and pre-tax transportation deductions, Adopt-A-Highway and Green Team committee efforts, and implementation of hybrid work models, American Heritage proves its dedication to bettering our climate and quality of life for its associates.
