American Heritage Credit Union recently provide funding for a brand-new home for a local partner family through Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia’s Homeowner Program. During the May ceremony, American Heritage provided the family with the keys to their new home located in North Philadelphia.
Acceptance into the Habitat for Humanity Homeownership Program is based on a partner family’s need, ability to pay, and willingness to partner with the organization. Moving into a Habitat Home allows families to achieve stability and independence while providing their children with a safe and secure home. Through American Heritage and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Philadelphia, the most recent partner family will also receive an affordable mortgage for their Habitat Home.
“It’s always a great day to welcome a family into their Habitat home,” said Corinne O’Connell, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia. “This would not be possible without our committed partners at American Heritage Credit Union, who share our vision of a city where everyone has a decent place to live.”
American Heritage has continuously made efforts and taken part in initiatives to live out the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” by working alongside organizations, like Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, that positively impact the communities American Heritage serves.
“Over the years, American Heritage Credit Union has helped thousands of families in the Philadelphia region achieve the dream of homeownership,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO Of American Heritage. “Our credit union’s roots are in North Philadelphia, and we are proud to have partnered with Habitat for Humanity and help beautify this street in North Philadelphia. Most importantly, we are honored to help this wonderful partner family have a safe and secure home where they can create many new memories for years to come.”
