American Heritage Credit Union is educating its members and the community on how to protect and manage finances while traveling this summer as vacations and dining begin to resume to normal levels. Throughout May, American Heritage has shared educational content on their social media and in their blogs that provide security tips on protecting cards and account information, as well as free American Heritage services designed to maximize the free security features on cards and other payment tools.

With more than 100 unique articles, American Heritage’s financial education blog is a resource to members that discusses specific topics and lessons. The newest blog, “4 Tips to Protect Your Mail (for Travel and Every Day!)” touches on the importance of digital services and cyber security, suggest ways to keep your mail secure and your personal information private. To read our most recent blog, visit AmericanHeritageCU.org/blog.

Additionally, American Heritage offers a variety of security tools and recommends helpful services to their members all year round:

  • Card Controls:  Easily manage American Heritage debit or credit cards, set authorization limits, and submit a travel notice from the Mobile Teller App.
  • Instant Account Alerts (eAlerts): Members can receive daily notifications through text or email about account activity and transactions.
  • Digital Services: Members can opt-in for eStatements, electronic billing, autopay, and ePay to limit paper use and keep their information secured through cyber security.
  • Member Security Advice: Members can view more information about the previously listed tools as well as educate themselves on current scams and security tips at AmericanHeritageCU.org/Member-Security.
“As our community finally reopens, we are excited for our members to be able to enjoy their summer with dining, traveling and more, and at the same time we want to educate them to be as diligent as possible,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO of American Heritage. “Debit and credit card fraud is unfortunately prevalent in our society; therefore, we provide free and convenient tools and services to keep our members’ spending safe as well as provide resources, rewards, and financial management tips.”
