American Heritage Credit Union’s Green Team hosted its inaugural Paw Pals Donation Drive for local animal shelters as well as two Adopt-A-Highway Spring Clean-Up events in Northeast Philadelphia and Lansdale, PA during the month of April. The American Heritage Green Team hosts a variety of volunteer events throughout the year to carry out its initiatives of beautifying the communities American Heritage serves while encouraging the credit union and its associates to become more environmentally friendly with their choices.

Over 600 items were donated by American Heritage associates and subsequently delivered to 3 local animal shelters in dire need of supplies. Treats, toys, used blankets, towels and more were donated to Pennsylvania SPCA in Philadelphia, Lahaska Animal Care Center in New Hope, and Upper Bucks Animal Care Center in Quakertown.

In addition, over 40 American Heritage associates, along with their friends and families, participated in the 12th Annual Green Team Spring Clean-Up events. Volunteers cleaned over two miles of PA Route 13 along Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia, as well as a two-mile stretch of Broad Street in Lansdale, PA.

“American Heritage truly cares about our community’s wellness and cleanliness, and believes the environment is everyone’s responsibility,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO of American Heritage. "Our Green Team’s programs, such as Adopt-A-Highway and these donation drives, improve the lives of people and their pets.  Thanks to the efforts of our American Heritage associates, many more miles of local highways are cleaner, and many more animals are safely taken care of and out of harm’s way.  I am proud of our Green Team and associates for the visible impact they are having on our community.”
