Inaugural Labor of Love Event Raises Over $67,000 for The Kids-N-Hope Foundation

By: American Heritage09.16.20
Ride or Stride participant and Kids-N-Hope Board Member Todd Kimball, spent the week biking his 90-mile goal for the Labor of Love event.

The Kids-N-Hope Foundation (“The Foundation”) raised over $67,000 during its inaugural Labor of Love Virtual Ride or Stride event. The event is the Foundation’s first virtual fundraising opportunity to continue supporting its beneficiaries at local hospitals and not-for-profit organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The seven-day virtual event invited riders and striders to walk or bike a pre-selected distance or course throughout the week while fundraising as individuals or a team.  Three additional fundraising events were held on America Heritage Credit Union’s campus prior to the week and included a Bike Tune Up Event, A Penny A Step Walk, and a Three-mile Bike Out.

“The Labor of Love was a great success and has paved the way for our future virtual events,” stated Brue K. Foulke, Founder and Chairman of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation. “Though the way our fundraising has changed, the need for pediatric healthcare funding and programming is greater than ever. Kids-N-Hope’s Labor of Love and our upcoming virtual fundraising opportunities will help us continue our mission and positively impact child life services, even during unprecedented times like these.”
